Shaily and Gurpreet: Sikh and Hindu Wedding

There is always a collective response when Shaily walks into a room, and it reveals itself as a smile and happiness. She makes people at ease and the glow of her effervescent personality lights a room even after she’s walked out. Shaily’s laugh makes others laugh and her happiness brings out the best in all those around her.  Her dancing makes you want to jump to your feet and run to the dance floor to join her amazingly complicated garba and dance moves that she makes look so simple and carefree.

It was this dancing, joyful and caring personality that won Gurpreet’s heart.  Gurpreet’s an excellent dancer as well. Collectively they are easily able to bring their 300 guests to their feet and dance the night away with them regardless if the music is pure garba music, Punjabi or hip hop.

We began filming and photographing the day of their Sikh wedding ceremony with a first look at Needwood Lake. As Shaily approached Gurpreet’s turned back we sensed his excitement. He turned to see his Shaily for the first time, dressed as his soon to be bride and she literally took his breath away. He placed his hand on his chest to help remind him to breathe. They smiled, held hands and a shared a tight embrace.

Their dual ceremonies, Sikh and Hindu wedding, in addition to their Garba and wedding reception were filled with no less emotion than their first look. Together with their friends and families they promised to love, honor, and cherish each other and their families for the rest of their lives.

Shaily and Gurpreet your wedding weekend was just as perfect as you both are. We couldn’t be happier you found true soul mates in each other.  May you continue to dance thorough life together, garba, bhangra or hip-hop. We’re looking forward to our double dates in Rockville!
