She. Never. Stopped. Smiling… Ever. It was as if her then boyfriend (now husband), put a spell on her that could never be broken. An intrinsic spell of perpetual happiness the moment he got down on one knee. Since that day she would fiddle with her ring, talk about him with puppy dog eyes and laugh at every joke he made. They were madly in love and a couple meant to be.
After all it was as if fate wrote their love story. They met at a benefit dinner, randomly on campus while out with friends. Without any mutual connections, they met by chance through an accidental “bump” while getting through the crowd. They randomly began talking, then laughing and the more they talked the more they realized how fate had stepped in and allowed them to meet. After a night of randomly talking to a stranger that captured his heart, Tayan simply had to make the next move and win her heart.
Shanthi began getting ready in her home, completely relaxed and childishly excited. She was like a girl on Christmas eve waiting to open the greatest present ever. She patiently waited as Sanobar put the final touches on her makeup, hair and helped Shanthi get into her Sari. With flowers in her hair and in a traditional Sri Lankan Sari she looked simply breath taking. After a few adoring looks from her family and friends we headed off to McCrillis Gardens for some couples photography time with her and Tayan followed by family formals.
During their couples shoot, Tayan’s jaw dropped the moment he saw his beautiful future wife, he simply loved Shanthi’s elegance and beauty. They simply fell in each others arms, held each other tight and gave us an hour to get some amazing photographs of just the two of them.
The wedding and reception took place at the Tysons Corner Hilton in McLean, VA. Their decor was a traditional Sri Lankan with beautiful flower garlands and a gorgeous mandap for the two of them to get married under created and designed by Partyland Flowers and Event Decor. Their ceremony was a traditional Sri Lankan ceremony interspersed with games and laugher.
The reception followed with moving speeches, loving family and people dancing all night. Shanthi and Tayan it was an honor to capture your wedding, we hope you two never stop smiling.
