For their first date Vishal boarded a plane in Atlanta and flew to DC to ‘find out about a girl.’ He had no friends in DC, wasn’t sure what there was to do; but knew that if he didn’t meet the girl who kept him laughing for hours on end and up half the night talking about everything he may miss out on the best thing that could ever happen to him. And so he boarded a plane for DC – nervous to met Kaushi but excited to see where this chance encounter could go.
Kaushi was nervous as well; all she knew is that Vishal made her laugh and brought out her true side she was able to be goofy, flamboyant and her natural self in front of him. She wanted their first date to go well so she bought all new clothes, got her nails done, her hair done and looked stunning from head to toe.
When Vishal arrived to pick her up he brought her a gift and a hope; a coffee mug of Atlanta that he hoped he could fill the next time she came down to visit him. This was just the beginning of how they both would fall head over heels in love with each other. She fell for his southern charm and hospitality while his heart skipped beats with the faintest glimpses of her smile and her insatiable personality.
By the end of their first encounter together, they both decided to embark on a journey of countless sleepless nights on the phone together, texting goofy pics of each other and endless skype dates. A plan was put into motion to make the 630 mile journey every month to see each other for a weekend an every month thing. Even though the weekend seemed like just a few short hours the benefits were to be in heartfelt warmth of each other’s arms knowing that forever would happen soon enough and racking up a million southwest points!
On their 3 month anniversary, Vishal decided to do something romantic because deep in his heart he knew that Kaushi was the one. He had just endured the best 3 months of his life and needed to make sure that she knew how much he loved her. So one evening he sits down on the couch and puts together a romantic poem while watching ESPN of course. He frames the poem and ships it out for next day delivery. Kaushi received the package the next day and starts to read the contents of the poem and at the very moment she knew that Vishal was the man of her dreams. That’s when she knew that one day she will be Mrs. Vishal Patel.
In early May Vishal and Kaushi got married in Greensboro, North Carolina as friends and family flew in from all over the would to watch the two of them fall ever deeper in love as they took their seven steps as husband and wife.
