Michelle would run the hallways at Silgo Advent School with her pigtails high and writing in her journal that she carried everywhere; Bernhard would be huddled in with a group of boys joking with all of his friends; they met as classmates in the second grade and yet their love wasn’t instantaneous; after all seven year olds do have cooties (fact).
Over the years their friendship turned into lust as Michelle scribbled his names in hearts all over her sixth grade notebooks and Bernhard would find every excuse to bump into her in the hallways and talk to Michelle after class. Their grade school crushes blossomed over the years as they became best of friends throughout high school; yet never taking it to the next step. Throughout college they stayed in touch and met up gleefully every time Michelle came back to the east coast.
Bernhard or ‘Bee” as Michelle liked to call him was scared of losing the friendship that he cherished so much; yet the feelings never went away; he would pine for her when she left and would cherish those phone calls that had them both up all night laughing and losing track of time.
Michelle Finally came back to the east coast after college and Bernhard finally mustered up the courage to ask her out not wanting to lose her again or wondering why later in life; Bernhard asked her to be his girlfriend and then three short years later to be his wife.
