A night of singing, dancing, scrumptious food and laughter. The sangeet is easily one of our favorite pre-wedding ceremonies; it gets everyone excited for the on coming wedding, everyone is dancing. laughing and ready! Joy’s sangeet took place at Ten Oaks Ballroom in Columbia, MD. Her friends and relatives kicked off the wedding events by providing entertainment by dancing to bollywood’s best songs, singing classics and having the mendhi artists going at full force. Everyone was having a blast sharing stories about the soon to be married couple.
The night was also coupled with Joy’s mendhi party. Her mendhi was beautifully applied, filled with details. Popular motifs of bridal mehendi are flowers, Kalash, peacock, doli and baraat patterns. The intricate motifs of the bridal henna also hide the husband’s name. The groom is asked to find his name in his bride’s mendhi as an evidence of his sharp eyes and active brain to impress his girl!
In addition to the wonderfully choreographed dances, fantastic singing and artfully applied henna the evening was not complete without Garba and Raas. Joy and Kapil surrounded by friends and family took to the dance floor to play garba, from easy four step moves up to intricate 12 step patterns everyone was having a phenomenal time.
Joy and Kapil, you two looked stunning at your mendhi and sangeet. Next up, Joy and Kapil’s beautiful wedding!
