Mithra was in denial she had feelings for Jonathan throughout their friendship at The Virginia Commonwealth University. Their endless talks, pet names for each other, being each others backup spouses – she thought was just playful fun. Although she was in denial of having feelings she did know that she never wanted to lose Jon as a friend because he was just that special. The year she moved to New Orleans, she was figuring out what she wanted to do with her life. She was excited to teach but knew there was something more she wanted and thus applied for PA school in October. She was not going to do it originally since she was nervous and did not have much confidence about getting in. Jonathan pushed her to apply for months and when she got an interview, he was on the phone with her for hours the night before helping her prepare and building her confidence. It was in these moments that Mithra knew she loved him. The day she found out she was accepted into PA school was the day Jon worked up the courage to ask Mithra to be his girlfriend – literally the best decision of his life.
Jonathan knew he loved Mithra when she was there for him as he was applying for jobs, helping him interview and assisting him in the paperwork. He spoke with her every night and went to her for advice on everything. They had long conversations when he was working night shifts and eventually found that a day without speaking to her was something he never wanted to experience. A month after Mithra moved to New Orleans he knew how much he missed her and booked a flight to visit, it was then he told her he loved her and asked her to be his girlfriend.
time passed and his conviction that Mithra was perfect for Jon only intensified. On a road trip to Visit Jons family – they made a detour to the city where their relationship started New Orleans. Jon had a wonderful night planned out as he whisked her to their favorite restaurant while in New Orleans followed by a stroll in Jackson Square where Jon has a Violinist and Cello player there as he got down on one knee and Ask Mithra to be his future.
Their Interfaith Hindu and Christian wedding took place at the Chesapeake Bay Hyatt. Their festivities kicked off with a fun filled Sangeet where both the Bride and the Groom had surprise choreographed dances, riveting speeches and a night for friends and family to dance, eat and enjoy. The next day the beautiful couple had two stunning ceremonies to profess their love. they started the day with a Hindu Ceremony followed by a Christian Ceremony and then a reception where family and friends danced the night away.
