They were lost in each other’s eyes, blissfully ignoring the D.C. tourists who curiously gazed in their direction. Their smiles grew as they stared at each other, seconds went by and no one uttered a word. There they were, thrown back in time to one the happiest moment in their lives, the day Peter asked for Chrissy’s hand in marriage.
Their smiles grew, they laughed and held each other’s hands just a tad tighter as they recounted the day they became engaged. Peter came home late and Chrissy was starving, she simply wanted to eat dinner, but Peter wanted to go for a walk. Confused and perplexed Chrissy agreed and headed out the door. Chrissy wanted to walk around their neighborhood, but Peter had other plans. After ushering her into the car he drove to the Lincoln Memorial and something happened that always happens when they are together. They just laughed, talked, and simply enjoyed their time together. In each other’s embrace, Peter knew that this was the best decision he could ever make and got down on one knee as they stood upon the Lincoln Memorial overlooking the reflecting pool and the Capitol Building. With a smile across her face and a new shiny rock on her finger she said yes and threw her hands around him.
On the day of their engagement session, from the moment we first walked into the grand St. Regis hotel to photographing them at the location of the proposal, the Lincoln Memorial, there was never a dull moment. He playfully teased her as she elegantly posed for our cameras. As they walked down the crowded D.C. streets hand in hand we knew these two were meant to be.
Chrissy and Peter we had a great time with you two! We hope you love the images as much as we do!
