Their paths crossed for the first time on their lunch break, friends of friends were sitting down eating lunch outside under an umbrella during the blistering hot summer months in Washington DC. Vikas was mid-sentence when Sonya walked up to join them, his words, mind and thoughts directly turned to her as he forgot his story and the punch line.
Sonya was not only beautiful, she was caring, loving and constantly kept Vikas laughing. They instantly hit it off as they diverted their attention from the group to each other. What started off as a random occurrence became a weekly tradition as they would go out as a group to lunch and as the months faded as did the lunch group until it was just Sonya and Vikas. Lunch transitioned to happy hours which turned into dinners and eventually the two of them dating.
