Every year it’s become a tradition; to get out of DC and just go somewhere, anywhere for my Birthday. Neeva and I just get away and enjoy some quite time; just the two of us. One year it was Puerto Rico, last year it was Ocean City and this year we headed out to Nashville Tennessee. Our goal was to go to a Honkey Tonk, buy a cowboy hat and say “howdy” and do “a holler and a swaller”(get your minds out of the gutters). I am proud to say we accomplished all three and had a blast in the process. We even got our very own engagement pictures taken in Nashville while we were out there. Below are a few quick pictures from our trip:
The Grand Ole Opry was one of the places we HAD to go, it is the home of country music, where all the big names play, we took a back stage tour and got to stand on the same stage as Trace Adkins, Carrie Underwood and the Zach Brown Band…like whoa (FYI I love country music)!
Back stage dressing rooms 🙂
We stayed at the Nashville Gaylord Hotel, IT IS HUGE. If you thought the DC Gaylord hotel in the National Harbor was big, this place will swallow it for breakfast!
A few quick pictures before our own engagement session
The local honkey tonks 🙂
Apparently it is bar etiquette to write your name on the walls, who are we to go against etiquette.
My idea of the ideal centerpeice
Waiting to see the black eye some guy gets when handing this to his girlfriend
Keeping up with tradition we had to mark our spot as well, we just hope when we go back to Nashville it is still there
