The question we ask every couple we meet, a question that speaks volumes about the thoughtfulness and the love they have for each other is a loaded question. But an answer, I am sure every engaged woman has given 50 times. The question simply is “How did he propose?”
When we asked Jay and Roshni this question, Jay smiled uncontrollably while Roshnis eyes grew wide and sparkled as they both began telling us about their proposal day. Simply put, Jay is quite the romantic. Any girl would be lucky to get even half the proposal day that Roshni received.
Jay spent the entire day recreating their relationship, taking Roshni to her favorite Crepes restaurant, retracing their picnics at the monuments, and even drinking the same wine that Jay bought Roshni at the beginning of their courtship.
For lunch Jay took Roshni to their favorite restaurant, and to quote Roshni, it was “the classiest Taco Bell around.” Next Jay gave Roshni a present in a mystery box and instructed her not to open the box until they get to their mystery location. Roshni sat in the car shaking the present, trying to figure out what it was, and although she guessed correctly it was a frame, she was not able to figure out what was held within frame.
The mystery location ended up being the Air Force Memorial, a place where Jay and Roshni use to go all the time. It was here they would relax and talk and became the best of friends.
Despite the overwhelmingly inspiring view, all Roshni could think about was her present. Jay finally told her she could open it. When she opened what she found was a framed index card, and on that card was a game of MASH. (MASH is a game that kids play to predict what their life would be like when they grow up). On this card it said that Jay would end up owning a Lamborghini, living in a house, with kids, and married to Roshni. (Jay had kept this index card of the MASH game in his pocket since the day they first played the game). As Roshni was soaking up the sentiment and Jays thoughtfulness of still holding onto the card after all this time, Jay pulled a box out of his pocket and said “I want to make all of this come true, will you marry me?” After a few “Oh my god oh my god oh my gods,” Roshni said yes.
After such a vivid and inspiring story we knew we had to capture a few images from the Air Force Memorial to make sure the story of their engagement could be told for years to come. We couldn’t have asked for a better day, the sky was overcast, and wind was blowing and our gorgeous couple was decked out from head to toe. In the midst of fighting the crowds and the crazy wind we were able to capture some amazing pictures.
Jay and Roshni we can’t wait until your wedding and our next trip to “the classiest” Taco Bell around!
