They sat across from each other at the high school lunch table, nibbling on packed lunches of carrots and PBJ sandwiches while talking about life after high school – the idea of college seemed so daunting to them both – leaving their friends, family and comfort blankets behind. And although they were both going to different colleges they knew the other was just a phone call away, their friendship would outlast distance and their inane ability to make each other laugh at a drop of a dime would transgress distance.
Late night phone calls dissecting their lives in college, their new friends and classes kept them talking, texting and IMing all throughout their freshman year. Soon their hour long conversations turned to two then three and what was once a friendship turned into so much more. Their love manifested over time through their ability to always be there for each other, their ability to make each other laugh without cause, and their ability to care for each other over anything else. With random late nights at Taco Bell, trips around the DC monuments and of course at Redskins games their love grew bolder, stronger and more beautiful.
