A Happy Wedding Photographer

Some days getting up in the morning can be rough. After a long 21 hour, 400 person wedding, your body aches and all you want to do is cover your head with a pillow and submerge yourself under your blanket. Sometimes after all the running around from location to location and carrying a ton of equipment on your back, you feel tired and drained. Sometimes, it reminds me of my days as a United States Marine running around with no end in sight. Although shooting with a Nikon Camera is a lot better than a M16, the shots are just as important, if not more so (just ask any bride!). While not even nearly comparable, my body is always starved for rest and relaxation.

But sometimes you receive a little square note in the mail that makes your heart smile, the same note that makes you realize that your clients love you and your work and those sleepless nights tolling through images and enhancing the minute details in every photo is all worth it. It’s truly appreciated, loved, and thus worth every sleepless night and back breaking minute. A thank you note expressing heartfelt appreciation, it brightens your day and makes you realize that you really do have the best job in the world. We just received one of these notes in the mail from a wonderful couple and it truly brightened our day! Not only do we have the best job in the world we also have the best clients, people who truly love our work and what we bring to the table.

I wouldn’t trade anything in the world for this job and all the exciting opportunities you have all brought our way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I love being a wedding photographer 🙂
