Wedding Planning Wednesdays: Bridal Sessions

After dreaming about your wedding dress and wedding day for all your life; spending countless hours going from one bridal store to the next to try to find the PERFECT dress; after spending thousands of dollars to buy, alter and look absolutely gorgeous in the dress; the dress that will be remembered for the rest of our lives, why do we only wear it once? Wedding dresses are BEAUTIFUL and can be very expensive. Why not get a little more use out of it, why not have images of you in your bridal gown to remember for the rest of your life?

A bridal session is a portrait session of a bride or couple in their bridal attire on a day other than their wedding day. These types of sessions can take place before the wedding and help you practice hair and make up (see if these are really the colors you want for your actual wedding day, do you want curls, hair up or down?), relieve the stress of the big day to get more shots allowing you more free time on the wedding day, getting unique shots in unique locations not viable on the wedding day (too far, too much time, too different) getting used to wearing the wedding attire, learn how to bustle that fancy train and most importantly play dress up!

Bridal Sessions normally last one to two hours letting the bride get some unique and beautiful images of herself in her wedding dress. This is a great time to get in the rhythm of posing and getting a little extra attention. The images from the shoot will be beautiful, unique and allow you to have images in your wedding dress that you will cherish forever in a location outside your wedding venue will allow for the creativity to take over and make you and your dress shine.

A bridal session can also take place after your big day. If for example you wore your hair up on your wedding day but you really want images of you with your hair down and less formal in your gown, this might be a good idea. Other options are a Trash the Dress session.

The importance of the bridal session is not to be overlooked on the wedding day. It is these artistic and directed images that will be cherished forever!
