Dhruv was studying for an exam when his friend called and told him to come to the Georgetown waterfront to hangout. He wasn’t really in the mood and had just started studying so he politely declined – saying next time he would go. But his ever-persistent friend just wouldn’t let him off the hook that fast and so after some corralling he finally agreed to come out for just ONE drink.
As he approached his friend at the waterfront he saw that she brought one of her other friends to join them – Varsha caught Dhruv’s eyes the minute he saw her and spent the rest of the night siting right beside her and talking only to her. What was suppose to be friends getting together for a few drinks and laughs turned into the day Dhruv met his future wife.
Over the next six weeks Dhruv would constantly ask out Varsha who had an excuse, something to do or other plans. Over time their texts turned flirtatious, their phone calls turned to courting and Varsha finally agreed. Over the next few years they became inseparable and best of friends.
Varsha and Dhruv’s Indian Wedding took place on the Eastern Maryland Shore in early March. The weather was phenomenal for their wedding weekend filled with a bridal party that never stopped celebrating, more bottles of champagne popped than people drinking and a wedding weekend that was nothing short of spectacular.
