Awarded Wedding Wire’s Bride Choice Award!

awarded-wedding-wires-bride-choice-award

We are absolutely ecstatic to announce that for the third year in a row we have been awarded the Wedding Wire Prestigious Brides Choice Award. The Brides choice award is only awarded to 5% of Wedding Photographers World Wide!

How are the winners determined?
The WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards ™ recognizes the top local wedding professionals from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism. Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the organization, the WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards™ are awarded solely based on the reviews from over 1.2 million newlyweds. Awards are determined by a combination of four factors: Overall rating (quality), total number of reviews (quantity), review performance from 2011 (recency), and consistency of reviews from year to year (consistency). This year’s recipients represent the top 5% of WeddingWire’s vendor community, across all service categories and all regions throughout the US and Canada.

Wedding Planning Wednesday: Emergency Planning

Emergencies don’t take a vacation — even if you’re on one.

If you’ll be honeymooning (and this is especially important if you’re traveling outside the country), draft a detailed itinerary with your emergency numbers and hotel and flight information.

Provide this information to a trusted friend or parent in case they need to contact you, and be sure to let others know who has the information. This is particularly critical if you have pets or children back at home that might require sudden medical attention.

It’s also a good idea to check in every couple of days by e-mail or phone in case any surprises have popped up in your absence. Now a days it’s fairly easy to obtain a world phone and sim card at practically any country or island you plan on visiting. Normally in coming calls are free so if you setup a time to char with loved ones on a particular day or time this could be a very cost effective option.

Remember to have fun and provide your contact information to a point of contact back home!

Swimming with the Dolphins

While planning our itinerary for our honeymoon in Bali, we were going through pictures from our mini-moon in October and came across images from one of our most enjoyable experiences from our trip to Cabo, swimming with dolphins.

At first I was a bit hesitant, after all these delicate mammals do weigh over a ton and compared to us, where massive! But as soon as we jumped in the water all of our hesitations quickly melted away. Our dolphin, Sophie, first impressed us by her myriad of tricks. Backward flips, jumps through hoops and fast paced swimming around the pool. It was exactly how everyone described how the experience would be, soothing, relaxing and a lot of fun. Sophie kissed us, danced with us and took us for a swim.

If you haven’t experienced a swim with dolphins, we highly suggest you give it a go. Check out some of our images from our amazing experience in Cabo, Mexico!
