Two short years later Akhil planned out an entire day full of festivities to relive their relationship in an effort to woo Lisa into marrying him. With riddles in hand he escorted Lisa to Great Falls, VA and before the first stop was complete and before he could open the bottle of wine from their picnic lunch he got down on one knee and proposed simply because waiting any longer would be too much to bear. All she could think of was simply “this is the kind of love that you see in the movies.”

Six months later Lisa was sitting in her hotel room waiting for her wedding day to finally begin. Lisa and her mother sat together in the wee hours of the morning and reminisced as Lisa had her hair and make-up done. Lisa’s mom cracked jokes at Lisa’s expense and enjoyed their time together. Akhil was in his room four stories down and simply enjoying his morning as his parents helped him get ready.

Once they both got ready and prior to the ceremony we were able to take these two lovebirds away for a few moments as we captured some fantastic images of the two of them in love and enjoying each other’s company for the last time before they were to be married.

The Baraat was nothing short of spectacular as Akhil and his twelve groomsmen, family and friends danced to the music of a dholi escorted by DJ Lucky. The groomsmen danced all the way to the Mandap leading Akhil in to be married. Moments later Lisa entered with her bridesmaids and uncle. Lisa looked stunning as she sheepishly smiled all the way to the Mandap. The ceremony was a traditional Hindu ceremony with readings of beautiful scriptures, a walk around the ceremonial fire, the traditional seven steps precluded with the blessings of family and friends.

From the ceremony family and friends went directly into cocktail hour as they enjoyed fantastic food and beverages. The reception started shortly after with touching speeches, entertaining dances, a cake cutting and a reception people will never forget. Family and friends stayed till the early morning hour dancing, drinking and celebrating the love of Lisa and Akhil.

To him it was the best decision he had ever made as he instantaneously fell into hour long conversations with a beautiful girl who he simply adored. She was calm, cool, collected, funny, beautiful and simply perfect in his eyes. Their casual dinners became day long dates and weekend trips as their love and infatuation with each other grew.

Fast forward two plus years and their wedding was filled with family and friends excited to see Sonal and Roshan finally get married. The morning of the wedding was festive; as bridesmaids, parents and cousins all assisted Sonal get ready. She was smiling from ear to ear and excited to wear a traditional Sari for the wedding; complete with traditional jewelry, nose ring and a gold belt. Roshan was eight flights down relaxing in the lobby with family and friends ready to see his beautiful fiancé and for the Baarat to start.

The Baarat stopped Baltimore Traffic as Roshans family took to the streets for a lively Baarat; filled with family dancing, friends picking up and carrying Roshan and a dhol player who kept the party going. Once they made it to the entrance of the wedding; Sonals family and friends joined in the festivities as they escorted Roshan to the Mandap.

The wedding was simply gorgeous as Sonal and Roshans eyes lit up at every turn; truly understanding that within moments they would finally be married. Their hands gleefully brushed up against each other as they simply smiled and enjoyed the journey to become husband and wife.

Once the ceremony ended; Sonal and Roshan went upstairs to change to get ready for the reception. Sonal has been dreaming about her beautiful white wedding dress since she was 4 years old; visions of a beautiful  cathedral length veil draped on a gorgeous white dress with accents of color all around. As she grew older; the visions became stronger and she simply wanted to don a Gorgeous White Dress on her wedding day. Her wish was granted and she simply looked ravishing. Roshan lost his breath and was completely chocked up the first time he saw her.

Their first look took place right outside of the Baltimore Harbor as our fantastic couple spent some time right on the water to get some beautiful sunset pictures. After a quick detour we headed back to the reception hall for a reception that kept everyone’s jaws on the floor. The fantastic décor, amazing music and scrumptious food kept everyone dancing all night long.

A few short weeks later Akhil asked Lisa out to dinner in Northern Virginia with desert in Georgetown; their marathon first date had them both head over heals for the other and soon their long distance love story began; filled with playful banter, trips to the movie theater and walks around Georgetown.

Their Washington DC engagement session incorporated many of the elements that made up their courtship over the past three years including movie theaters, parks and Georgetown itself (sorry no flip cup).  Akhil and Lisa we had an absolutely amazing time photographing your engagement shoot and cannot wait for the wedding!

Kina and Tony met during a Navratri garba, they talked, flirted and laughed togehter at the end of the night they went their separate ways. However Tony knew in his heart that there was a spark between them and he wanted to see Kina again. He knew there was something more than a new friend and started to pursued her. Tony would come up with elaborate reasons to talk to her, randomly bump into her and finally ask her out.

As the weeks went on she finally accepted and their first date was at CHAMPS, the conversation flowed smoothly as they spent hours just talking, laughing and enjoying each others company. As the night ended Tony asked Kina out again, she shyly smiled, accepted and thus began their beautiful relationship.

Kina and Tony will be getting married in less than a month and we cannot wait for the festivities to begin!

Sonal and Roshan met through mutual friends; Roshan’s cousin and Sonals good friend. At first, neither of them wanted to meet the other; they looked for every excuse in the book not the meet including “I have to blow dry my hair (Roshan)”,”I need to watch my neighbors fish” and my personal favorite ” I have to check the freshness dates on my dairy products.” But as time wore on; they met and once they met; they instantly hit it off; they were laughing, joking and having the times of their lives. Roshan has always had an innate ability to make Sonal laugh and Sonal always keeps Roshan on his toes wanting to try new and exciting things. A whirl wind relationship had Roshan asking Sonal to marry him only a short year later.

The wedding of these two love birds is about a month away and here are a few of our favorite images from their engagement session. Enjoy!
