It’s funny how fate works, two lives intertwined through the fabric of friends, never to cross paths. Yet learn of each others existence through the free banter of the internet. Suman was introduced to our website, company and blog through her friend months ago. She became a long time reader and viewer of our blog, having an emotional connection to our brides and one way conversations to our pictures (her words). Yet she wasn’t sure if she needed a photographer for her wedding (yes, crazy). So five days before the wedding, as nerves were probably kicking in, and last minute preparations were being made; Photographick gets a nonchalant e-mail from Suman simply asking “Are you free to photograph our wedding?” Utterly perplexed, I assumed the wedding was in 2011, but no, Suman was kind enough to clarify the date; three times in the e-mail, just in case I jumped to conclusions, which I obviously did. I called the soon to be bride and understood right away that her wedding day was completely under control and strewn together perfectly. After a 45 minute conversation with the bride and groom which consisted of me utterly changing her schedule around, I now had plans for Friday night! But enough about me. . .
Suman was a consultant to the core; iphone in hand; managing everything, double checking timings, and having ensuring that every detail was perfect. Rishi was the opposite, allowing his beautiful bride to do all the work as he sat back, cracked jokes, relaxed and danced into the moon light.
Suman and Rishi’s wedding was a very well choreographed affair that focused on family and friends. From an emotional baraat with lots of dancing, cheering and laughing; to cutting the cake with long time good friends, who now share a wedding anniversary with them; to an extremely emotional vidaai (leaving her parents to join the grooms family) with friends and family crying both tears of joy and sorrow.
In addition to the wedding being very family oriented; the events truly showed off the personalities of both Suman and Rishi. The outfits were breath taking and unique, the mandap was simply elegant; their first dance was a compilation of classical Hindi music, Lil Wayne and old love songs; there was amazing food, drinks and a party that friends and family will remember for a long time. This was truly a wonderful affair, that I was happy to be a part of.
