As Rajiv was out at a bar with a few friends one Saturday night his eyes met hers from across the room, she was a social butterfly,  sophisticated and  absolutely gorgeous. And although his brain was telling him that love at first sight doesn’t exist, his heart was telling him the opposite; that he had to talk to her, to see her and that night in that bar, he knew he had met his future wife.

Fast forward two years, 80+ dates and they were soon to be married. Shriya was in her hotel room with her mom, aunts, bridesmaids, cousins and friends taking in the sights and sounds of her own wedding. There were women braiding her hair, placing flowers in her hair, feeding her, cleaning her jewelry and making sure she was treated like a queen.

Rajiv was on the opposite side of the hotel simply relaxing with his groomsmen, cracking jokes, laughing and simply enjoying himself. AS he began getting ready he helped his groomsmen into their clothes and they walked down for the start of the wedding; for the Baarat. The smile on Rajiv’s face never disintegrated as he was ecstatic for what the day was to bring.

As the Baarat ended and the South Indian Telgu wedding began his smile simply got larger. He never looked happier as he saw his bride for the first time, she blushed, darted eyes and never let go of him as they walked around the fire symbolizing their sanctity in marriage. They looked beautiful playing games, holding hands and completing the religious ceremony.

The reception looked absolutely stunning with flower infused chandelier candle operas, accented red and purple flowers, floating candles and a stunning reception layout. Guests were enthralled with the decor and the beautiful speeches showed the love and closeness for everyone  within the room. After the first dance, cake cutting and speeches everyone danced the night away celebrating the fact that love at first sight does exist and the union of Shriya and Rajiv. Shriya looked absolutely beautiful and spent time with every guest, dancing with her grandmother, parents, friends and family. They both looked absolutely amazing on the day they will remember for the rest of their lives.

The moment these two get together you understand exactly why they were meant to be; Karishma’s smile never ceases and the love Barath has for Karishma can easily be seen through his big beautiful eyes. They talk at about 100 miles a minute, laugh, joke and smile throughout. These two were meant to be; it was a central theme throughout their wedding and can be said of any couple on their wedding day. But these two were different; they molded perfectly into each others arms, held each other ever so tightly and never stopped smiling.

Karishma and Barath met though mutual friends and had their first date at the Big Hunt(we had their engagement session here as well!) where Barath talked about his job, life in DC and taught Karishma a thing or two about beer.  Karishma was intoxicated in him; they talked, laughed and never looked back.

A few years later they were getting ready for their wedding at the Bethesda Hyatt. Karishma had all her bridesmaids swarming around her as she got ready. They laughed, tried to figure out how to put on Sari’s, made sure Karishma was smiling, sipped campaign and reminisced about Karishma and Barath’s relationship.

Barath enjoyed time with is family, having his father help him get ready, provide marriage advice, hint at children and simply be there with him as he got ready.

Once the two of them looked absolutely stunning; we were able to do a quick 30 minute session with just the two of them. Her stunning lengha took Barath’s breath when he saw her. His eyes told her he loved her as they shed a tear of happiness to finally be together on their wedding day. As they smiled and held each other we photographed away and got some absolutely gorgeous imagery of the two of them.

The ceremony was a traditional Hindu ceremony with a beautiful Mandap and stunning floral decor provided by L’ambiance. As they made their rounds around the fire the strength of their grips as they held each other grew stronger and stronger. Their smiles progressively became bigger and bigger until they were officially married and Barath was finally able to call Karishma “Wifey.”

The reception was filled with speeches of how they were meant to be, their different personalities but more than anything the way they complete each other and their undeniable love for each other. Once the speeches ended these two danced the night away in each others arms.

Without Joy knowing; Kapil invited both families to the Mandir (Hindu temple), decorated it with ornate flowers and waited for Joy to arrive. Joy was planning on meeting Kapil there; unbeknownst to his real intentions and the surprises he laid out for her. As he asked Joy for her hand in marriage; their family came out to celebrate the occasion streaming tears down Joys face and the dawning of a smile that has never left her face since. Her heart melted at the thoughtfulness of the proposal, the incorporation of her faith and her family; the two items that were most important to her.

On the day of their wedding; Joy sat in the bridal suite smiling from ear to ear, the hustle and bustle of friends and family running in and out of her suite, family prepping last minute wedding details and minor changes of wedding day plans didn’t faze Joy. She simply sat in her bridal suite, smiling, helping with the details and simply lost in the thought of finally being married to her best friend. Her sisters cracked jokes, her mother was pacing around the room ensuring all the details were perfect and her father simply looking at Joy with pride and unequivocal love. Joy was smiling, enjoying her moment in the spotlight and ready to solidify her union with fiance.

Kapil was eleven floors up relaxing with family, simply enjoying the moment, reminiscing with his family about the past and poking fun at his brother while getting dressed. Excited for the little surprises they had for their guests Kapil was ready for the day to unfold. The surprises ranged from fire blowers, stilt walkers, photo booths to fireworks their wedding was one that people would not forget.

Kapil and Joy wanted to be engrossed with each other’s beauty for the first time at the wedding itself and as Joy walked down the aisle their eyes were locked on each other with loving smiles and blushing cheeks their glances couldn’t be broken; they walked closer and closer together, eye to eye until hand in hand. As the ceremony began Kapil and Joy laughed, joked and smiled all while solidifying their bond as husband and wife.

At the end of the ceremony, Kapil and Joy were whisked away by horse and carriage to enjoy a few moments alone; embracing their love and time together as man and wife. Upon their return and a quick clothing change we were able to take these two out to the waterfront area of the Gaylord Hotel; as the sun was coming down we were able to capture some beautiful and breathtaking images of them.

The reception hall was absolutely gorgeous with ornate centerpieces, fantastic lighting, a beautiful cake and a wonderful stage for Joy and Kapil to sit. There were beautiful speeches, fantastic dances and a night that very few would ever forget. Their love for each other, their family and friends resonated long into the night as they interacted, danced and laughed the night away.
