Neeva and I have been talking about going wine tasting in Virginia forever! It was one of those things you’d love to do, you write down, you have all intentions of doing…but never get to. Kind of like cleaning out the garage or just cleaning in general. But this time we put our minds to it, after a little research (aka Google) we found the perfect vineyard, on the perfect road in the perfect backdrop that was only two hours away!
We decided to venture out with our close friends, Mani and Preethi, on a picturesque drive to the historic Barboursville Vineyards outside of Charlottesville, VA. We were given a short tour of the barrel and processing rooms, tasted over 16 different wines (yes sixteen, and yes that is why we picked this vineyard), bought a case or two (business expense?), and then ventured out to the vineyards! We happened to have our camera and decided to take a few pictures of our fabulous friends and the beautiful vineyard!
After a quick run through the vineyards we sauntered over to the historic Jefferson ruins built in 1814 located on the Barboursville property, a historic site we just had to see and photograph. This breath taking structure exuded Thomas Jefferson’s signature architecture, from tall columns to an octagonal room, we just could not resist from snapping a few shots (yes even after sixteen wine tastings we remembered a fact or two)!
Preethi donned a stunning blue knee length cocktail dress that shimmered in the sunlight and matched her personality to a t, playful yet elegant. She was a star in front of the camera- her eyes twinkled as she posed naturally.
Mani was hesitant in front of the camera but not for long! After consuming 16 wine samples and breaking a few glasses in the process his personality shinned as he cracked jokes and made us all laugh.
